As architects and designers, we understand the importance of the details and how attention to the details is what makes the space custom for each client. We are fortunate enough to live and work in a city that embraces excellent design with great care for the details. Cincinnati is truly rich with incredibly talented architects and designers and we are proud to be a part of the industry.
The topic of designing with the details in mind took me, for better or worse, to the red cup controversy surrounding the holiday edition of the Starbucks coffee cup. And I wonder, is there really a controversy to be had over a cardboard, 10% post-consumer recycled coffee cup? It appears, for some folks, the answer is yes. Some people long for the snowflakes and the reindeer on their Starbucks cup, not just a simple red cup.
While I cannot fully grasp the intensity about the offense that Starbucks has caused some people, I suppose I can relate to the reality that the design is in (or, in this case, is not) in the details.
